"I appeal to our law enforcement agencies to take cases of violence against women and children serious. I appeal to the judiciary to prioritise cases of violence against women and children...Let us continue to protect and care for each other. Let us be vigilant in our homes. Let us stop protecting criminals. Any act that diminishes one woman diminishes all of us" - Wife of Ekiti Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi speaking at the summit

"Several problems can result from gender-based violence such as physical injuries, death, sexual and health reproductive problems, unwanted pregnancies, risky behaviours..." - Professor Yemisi Obilade, Vice Chancellor, Tai Solarin University, Ijebu-Ode, delivering a keynote address at the 3rd Ekiti Gender Summit 2013

"Until we start individually to take action. Until we realise that we are our sister's keeper...the way forward requires fresh vision, fresh mission, fresh passion. We must come to a roundtable to discuss sharing of power where women will have a voice and input in what affects them and the society they live in...I will not end this address without appreciating the efforts of Ekiti State Government in this regard. Your Excellencies, Governor Kayode Fayemi and Erelu Bisi Fayemi, we thank you for the bold and courageous moves you are making in protecting and defending the rights of women -Professor Yemisi Obilade, Vice Chancellor, Tai Solarin University, Ijebu-Ode, delivering a keynote address at the 3rd Ekiti Gender Summit 2013
