The trouble was started by those who claimed to be the authentic members of the Labour Party in Ekiti and their grouse is that Opeyemi Bamidele is being imposed on them.
While they claimed that they had no problem with the defection of Bamidele to their party, they, however, would resist him installing his stooges in all the executive positions in the Labour Party.
According to some of the aggrieved members who spoke with newsmen, they had in the interest of peace proposed a 50/50 sharing formula to which the MOB group is opposed, insisting that should there be a primary election, it could affect their fortune, hence their insistence on having the whole party exco in their pocket.
The whole crisis reached the peak today as the 'authentic' party members stormed the party secretariat at Ajilosun today and chased all pro-Bibiire elements out of the secretariat.
They vowed to resist all attempt by Bamidele to install his stooges as Labour Party exco, adding that the aspirant, Olutayo Ogunyemi, that they are supporting has been the sole financier of the party in Ekiti State before the defection of Bamidele.
Findings revealed that the crisis happened across all the sixteen local governments in the state.
As at the time of filing this story, the LP secretariat in Ado-Ekiti is under lock and key.
It is being alleged that Opeyemi Bamidele has run cap in hand to Ondo State Governor Olusegun Mimiko to save him from the blowout from the crisis, but if feelers from the other camp is anything to go by, Mimiko might not be able to quell the combustible crisis.
