Twenty-three students had sat for the qualification exams, out of which the top ten were given free JAMB forms while the remaining thirteen were given JAMB-centred textbooks to prepare them for the exams.
During the presentation of the JAMB e-registration cards to the lucky students in Igbemo-Ekiti, Mr. Oluwasola told them in plain terms that his gesture was not about politics, hence the impartiality with which the winners were selected after doing very well in the test exams.
He told them that having gone through hard times to become a graduate, the gesture was his own way of giving back to a community that produced him and to partner with the students in their bid to attain their set education target.
"If you look closely, you would see that this cuts across and has no political undertone. This is my own way of giving back, of partnering you to show that besides your parents, there is a big uncle who cares about you. I am that uncle. Don't look at the size of this, rather look at the motive which is to see you become university graduates and become successful adults," Oluwasola said.
He enjoined them to stay away from partisan politics and focus solely on their studies to become responsible adults, stressing that this is the only way they can be respected and not seen as mere thugs.
As part of his contribution, Mr. Oluwasola, who is a legal practitioner, also pledged to be responsible for the rent of a secretariat in the town for the Federation of Igbemo-Ekiti Students Union.
The representative of the Igbemo students' union, Halimi Tajudeen, who was present on the occasion, thanked Mr. Oluwasola and urged the beneficiaries to study hard for the exams so that their success could serve as motivation for the sponsor.
One of the benefitting students, Olasunkanmi Olarotimi, thanked Mr. Oluwasola, promising that they would make him proud.
