The governor also urged them to ensure peace in their domains in the discharge of their duties and to cultivate a good relationship with the traditional institution, adding that they would benefit greatly from the advice of traditional rulers.
While expressing belief in their capacity to deliver, Dr. Fayemi noted that though all the newly appointed caretaker chairmen are men, it would subsequently no longer be an all-round men affair at the local government level.
He reiterated the commitment of his government to representative democracy at the local government, adding that all the legal encumbrancies that did not allow for the conduct of local council poll were being overcome.
"I assure you that local government election will take place in Ekiti before the end of 2014," Dr. Fayemi declared.
He thanked Ekiti people for their large turn-out during the APC membership registration and admonished them to equally turn out in large numbers during the distribution of permanent voter's card and registration of voters next month.
While commending the former LG bosses for their efforts towards the development of Ekiti State, Governor Fayemi also thanked them for giving a good account of themselves.
Speaking on behalf of the newly appointed LG bosses, the caretaker chairman of Efon Local Government, Dr. Adio Folayan, thanked the governor for their appointment and promised that they would be up and doing in the discharge of their duties.
The new chairmen are Hon. Tope Olanipekun (Ado), Dr. Adio Folayan (Efon), Hon. Sunday Ajidara (Ekiti East), Mr. Yemi Alatise (Ekiti Southwest), Mr. Akin Alade (Ekiti West), Hon. Febisola Adewale (Emure), Mr. Femi Awe (Gbonyin) and Mr Kehinde Ogunlade (Ido/Osi).
Others are Hon. Kunle Ajayi (Ijero), Mr. Gbenga Omole (Ikere), Chief Dele Olatuyi (Ikole), Prince Adegoroye Bamgboye (Ilejemeje), Hon. Tajudeen Awe (Irepodun/Ifelodun), Hon. Deji Ajayi (Ise/Orun), Hon. Olakanmi Olaseinde (Moba) and Mr. Akindele Ogungbuyi (Oye).
