BUDGET TOUR: PEOPLE OF EKITI WEST SHOWER PRAISES ON FAYEMI

It was a party-type atmosphere today in Aramoko, Ekiti West as people trooped out in their hundreds to welcome Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi to the town on his budget tour of the local government.

Security men had a hectic time controlling the mammoth crowd which stood its ground and would not be pushed as the people struggled to catch a glimpse of the governor.

School children were also not left out as they attended the budget tour in large numbers.

The town's spokesperson was full of praises for the Fayemi administration as he expressed his community's appreciation for the community empowerment grant for the renovation of their palace, the general hospital undergoing renovation and the monthly stipend for the elderly which many aged people in Aramoko are benefiting from.

The requests of the town include among other things appointment of more Aramoko sons and daughters into government positions.

Describing the governor as a listening leader, the Aramoko community expressed confidence that all their requests would be acceded to.

In his remarks, Governor Kayode Fayemi said he was happy that most of the requests of Aramoko during his budget tour of the town in 2012 had been taken care of.

He listed such requests to include the renovation of the general hospital which is ongoing, adding that Hon. Oyetunde Ojo of Ekiti Central Federal Constituency 2 is also sponsoring some renovation at the hospital.

Dr. Fayemi said the request for community empowerment had also be acceded to, especially with the grants given to the town.

He described all their requests for next year as necessary things that any people-oriented government must take serious.

He assured them that Aramoko/Erijiyan/Ikogosi road would be included in next year's budget and that another 1.5 kilometre of township road will be done as part of the traditional 5 kilometres done every year in all local governments.

He also spoke about youth unemployment, adding that his government would find ways to stem it.

He, however, added that government alone cannot offer everyone employment, explaining that his administration would continue to work towards creating a conducive environment for private investors in its drive to check unemployment.

Governor Fayemi promised that his government would also make self-employment a priority.

The next stop was Ido-Ile where the governor praised the youth for being peaceful and cultured and also commissioned a townhall which was partly built with the state's community empowerment grant.

He assured that all the requests of the town would be considered.

While commending the governor for his numerous achievements, the Olojudo of Ido-Ile urged all indigenes and residents of Ekiti to support the governor by voting him for another term of four years.

He said Ekiti has never been this lucky to have a governor who has imparted all communities positively.

At Okemesi-Ekiti, the crowd that received the governor could not hide their excitement.

They commended the Fayemi administration for the ongoing renovation of their king's palace and the General Hospital in the town.

Their requests amongst others include the creation of a local council development area (LCDA) with the town as headquarters, a TV booster station to enable indigenes of the town watch the state TV.

The Owa-Oye of Okemesi said he was sure that all their requests would be granted, adding that the records on ground have shown that Governor Kayode Fayemi does not make promises without fulfilling them.

The Owa-Oye of Okemesi added that the wish of his people is to see the governor sworn for another term of four years.

At Ipole-Iloro and Ikogosi, the reception was not different as the people trooped out to show their love for the Fayemi administration.
The governor calmly listened to all their requests and promised that his government would work on them to see those that could be accommodated in next year's budget.

Dr. Fayemi particularly gave assurance that the upgrading of Arinta waterfalls in Ipole-Iloro into a world class tourist centre would be included in next year's budget.

Both communities (Ipole-Iloro and Okemesi) assured the governor of massive votes in next year's election.

The last stop was Erinjiyan-Ekiti.

The reception was exceptional as the people praised the administration for the employment of their youth into the Peace Corps and the Ilera La'afin palace health mission.

Parts of their requests include the reconstruction of Ikogosi/Erijinyan/Aramoko road, staffing of the town health centre and provision of water.

In his remarks, Governor Fayemi thanked them for their support for his administration.

He assured them that all their requests would be considered and that potable water would be available in the town next year.

The governor commissioned a newly constructed road in the town,

As a sign of their love for him, the Erinjiyan community presented the governor with a ram.
