OJUDU SAYS EXCELLENCE IS ATTAINABLE

Senator representing Ekiti Central in the National Assembly, Senator Babafemi Ojudu has said that commitment to hard work and determination are necessary ingredients for making success out of life, adding that with passion an individual will always stand out.

The Senator, who spoke at the finale of the 2013 Initiative of Babafemi Ojudu for Leadership Development (I-BOLD), said that his main target was to foster awareness among the youth for purposeful living which is essential for greatness.

Citing examples such as Steve Jobs, Damola Osayomi and Oluwaseyi Akingbade who all, surmounted incredible obstacles to attain successes, he stated that they must give their best in life regardless of the challenges they face as only success is worth living for.

He said to succeed in present day Nigeria; “is not about certificate alone, but your passion, finding it and sticking with it no matter what” is of essence. The Senator urged the participants to shun indolence by making necessary sacrifice that would make them great in life.

The 2103 edition was won by Damilola Olusola who went home with a laptop and Five Hundred Thousand Naira; the second position went to Adeyeye Eyitayo who went home with a laptop and Three and Fifty Thousand Naira while the third position was taken by Sasere Opeyemi who won a laptop and One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira.

The Fourth position won by Gbemisola Oladipupo went home with a laptop while the fifth position went to Oladele Yomi Kehinde who went home with a laptop. The sixth to the nineteenth position went home with consolation prizes of Twenty Thousand Naira each.

Speaking at the event, elder statesman, Chief S.B. Falegan, commended Senator Ojudu, for his foresight in initiating such a programme adding that the current leadership deficit in Nigeria can be resolved by such a programme. Falegan, impressed that three girls were amongst the finalists, donated the sum of Two Hundred Thousand Naira to the girls as an act of encouragement.

The event had in attendance dignitaries from the public and private sectors as well as leading politicians and some members of the state executives.
